D. Lee Spurgin, Jr. PhD
Vice President & General Manager, Medical Device Development
In 2010, Lee Spurgin was appointed Vice President & General Manager of Theorem’s Medical Device Development Business Unit. In this role, he holds responsibility for the clinical, financial and operational oversight of the company’s rapidly growing global medical device team.
Dr. Spurgin joined the company in 1997 when it was known as Clinimetrics Research Associates, before its acquisition by Omnicare, Inc. and integration with Omnicare Clinical Research (which ultimately became Theorem in 2011). Since then, he has held a variety of clinical positions of increasing responsibility. Throughout the last 20+ years, Dr. Spurgin’s career path has spanned the realm of the health services, pharmaceutical, and contract research industries.
He holds several degrees, including a PhD in Management from LaSalle University and an M.A. in Management in Business Management from National University, as well as a B.S. in Health Care Administration from Southern Illinois University.
Dr. Spurgin is a member of many professional associations, including the Drug Information Association (DIA), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), Regulatory Associates Professionals (RAPs) and has authored numerous presentations and posters at industry conferences.
